Aleane Fitz-Carter is a 96-year-old pianist, composer, and beloved church musician whose career spans more than seven decades. Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on July 24, 1929, she began playing piano at age seven and later studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Roosevelt College, earning a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has served as minister of music and choral director for congregations across the Midwest and Los Angeles, founded the Christian Actors’ Guild, and led prison ministry in Omaha.

A registered performing artist with the Nebraska and Iowa Arts Councils, she has toured nationally presenting choral and instrumental workshops, as well as her signature one-woman program honoring Rosa Parks that blends sacred music and poetry. She also served on the National Faculty of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (1986–2005) and has been recognized with numerous awards for her compositions and lifelong dedication to music ministry and community service.
