Seek God in Prayer as We Serve in Love
Greetings everyone. I pray that you are doing well and I hope that you are staying safe during these warm summer months. I am so happy that we are starting our newsletter in this season of new beginnings. I pray that it will prove a rich blessing to everyone.
We are in a new building and a new location and by God’s grace we will see new opportunities to impact our community to the glory of our Lord. The theme for the year is Serving with Love and the hope is that we can show the love of God in tangible ways to our friends and neighbors. There are so many ways to accomplish this and we need your involvement. Please support the church with your time and talents as we share the love of Christ with our neighbors and engage our visitors and friends. Without your participation, we will not get very far but with each contribution, time, and effort, we can accomplish a great deal.
In May, the Community Service Department was able to gather enough gift bags to provide for the bus drivers and monitors at Crews Middle School and that was a blessing to so many. On July 28, we want to impact our neighbors with a Health Fair that will hopefully feature healthy food presentations, health checks, and fun times for the kids. Please help to spread the word as we seek to build friendships for eternity. If you would like to help, please speak with Roselyne Antenor and she will provide all the necessary information. In doing all this work we do need your help financially and so I would like to appeal to our church family to give a generous offering to our local church budget this month as we continue to minister in the community.
One of the most important areas that I would like to invite the entire church to participate in, is to seek the Lord in prayer. Jesus shared with us in Matthew 7:7 that if we ask, seek, and knock, the doors of heaven will be opened to us. We know that the Lord will grant us the request of His Holy Spirit when we sincerely seek and desire this gift. Why should the church pray sincerely for the Holy Spirit? Because Jesus commanded us to in Acts 1:4. Why? Because it is the only way we can be empowered to effectively share the gospel message. Why? Because it is the only way that unity can be maintained in the church family. Why? Because it is the only way that we can demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit. There are some things we may not get right, but I hope we can get it right with prayer. Please join us as a church as we pray each morning at 6 am, Wednesdays at 7 pm, and on Sabbaths together as a family. Please use our various group meetings to take the time to pray for the mission of the church and the outpouring of the Spirit. May God continue to bless and prosper you all.
